Wow. Nothing. Never do things for selfish ambition. Is pride the source of all sin?
Always esteem others better than yourself. We are not to think of others on occasion, it needs to be always, a pattern of life, a consuming attitude in all we are and do.
"Selfish ambition" in the Greek indicates strife or contention. The implication is that there is a conflict, a battle, a competition. This is precisely the opposite of unity. Working in opposite directions vs. the same direction.
So this can be translated "let nothing be done in selfish competition".
