Romans 8:18

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.

In verse 1 comments, mentioned is the person with the parachute, who will hold onto it with dear life, no matter what comes his way. As we get a proper view of our inheritance (see comments on vs 17), we will look forward with great hope of what is to come, despite the challenges of this life.
