We read in Amos that there would be a famine in the land for the word of God - Amos 8:11. There was a famine before this, for the words of God has been lost, and were now found. How painful that must have been to those who followed God. Wow, what a shame, to not have the Word of God available to them!
Yet, maybe even more of a shame is the fact that we have the Word of God, and rarely open it. We treasure it, we revere it, and yet we don't take advantage of the fact that we have it in our hands.
