¡Ay de los que van muy hondo
para esconder sus planes al SEÑOR,
y realizan sus obras en tinieblas
y dicen: ¿Quién nos ve, o quién nos conoce?

Isaiah 29:15 - The Message

Doom to you! You pretend to have the inside track.
You shut God out and work behind the scenes,
Plotting the future as if you knew everything,
acting mysterious, never showing your hand.
You have everything backward!
You treat the potter as a lump of clay.
Does a book say to its author,
"He didn’t write a word of me"?
Does a meal say to the woman who cooked it,
"She had nothing to do with this"?

Isaiah 29:15 - New American Standard Bible

Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are {done} in a dark place, And they say, "Who sees us?" or "Who knows us?"

Isaiah 29:15 - Nueva Biblia Latinoamericana de Hoy

¡Ay de los que van muy hondo
Para esconder sus planes al SEÑOR,
Y realizan sus obras en tinieblas
Y dicen: "¿Quién nos ve? o ¿Quién nos conoce?"

Isaiah 29:15 - Additional Comments

(29:15-16)
The pen might say to the writer, did you mean to write that? The brush might say to the artist, did you mean to paint that? The knife might say to the whittler, did you mean to carve that? From a human perspective, we can see that, for we make mistakes! But with God it is mightily different. When He writes, when He paints, when He carves, it is with impeccable precision and unwavering accuracy. It is never wrong, and it is with complete planning and purpose.

So, when God's will is laid out before you, the potter has a use for which He built the pot. Funny how the pot may not want to be used for that, but that is why the potter built it, it is how the potter built it, and the potter is hoping the pot to be used for His desires.

Ask: Who do you go to for advice on your taxes? Who do you go to for advice on where to invest your money? Who do you go to for advice on homes, insurance, jobs, etc.? How about family or relationship matters? How about spiritual matters?

All this is well and good, for God says:
Prov 15:22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.

But what else does God say about seeking counsel?
Job 15:8 Have you heard the counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself?
And
Psa 81:8 "Hear, O my people, and I will warn you- if you would but listen to me, O Israel!"
